PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Witt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rajja Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Witt comes to the cage accompanied by Animal by Disturbed. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Witt!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 2, fighting out of London, Rajja Khan!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Khan misses with a looping left.
Khan throws a nice outside leg kick.
Witt gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Khan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Witt throws a body kick that misses.
Witt takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Khan cracks Witt with a good jab.
Khan is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Witt fails to land with a series of punches.
Khan misses with the combination.
Khan lands a nice looking body kick.
Witt cracks Khan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A punch lands to the side of Witt 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Khan catches Witt with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Witt sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Witt changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Khan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Witt misses with a combination
and Khan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Witt drops his hands momentarily and Khan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Khan scores with the left hand. Witt knows he should have avoided that one.
Khan checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Witt throws a leg kick but Khan sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Witt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Khan moves away.

and Khan counters with a stiff right hand.

Khan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Witt on his heels. He'll look to pass Witt's guard now, I'm sure.

Khan is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Witt throws a lazy right hand but Khan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Khan is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Witt had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Aaron Witt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Witt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Witt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Khan avoids it really well and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well Khan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
