Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chase Handler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derick Moore! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moore closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Handler to the mat! Handler manages to get full guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Moore sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Handler's guard. Moore with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Handler is looking to get back to full guard here but Moore has managed to pass to side control instead. Handler is looking for a sweep. Handler is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Moore is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Handler is in all sorts of trouble here.
Moore looking to control and managing it successfully. Handler working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moore tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Moore looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Moore scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Handler?
Handler is trying to escape the mount.
Moore lands with some strikes.
It looks like Chase Handler has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Moore controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moore is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Handler can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Handler is looking to improve his position but Moore isn't that keen on the idea. Moore in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Chase Handler's cut is getting worse. Moore connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moore looking to finish Handler with some ground and pound. This is bad for Handler! Moore tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Moore's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Moore has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moore lands a heavy elbow. Moore lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Chase Handler's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Moore controlling from the full mount. Moore with shots to the head and body - Handler looks very uncomfortable down there.
Jeez, Chase Handler's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Chase Handler's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Derick Moore! Derick Moore was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
