The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasilev lands a two punch combo.

Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vasilev, pushing him back against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Vasilev stops a takedown attempt from Jackson.

Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vasilev pinned against the cage. Vasilev gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Vasilev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jackson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vasilev to score with a decent uppercut.
Jackson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vasilev defends well and Jackson ends up having to push Vasilev into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jackson is trying to drag Vasilev to the mat but Vasilev just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Vasilev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Vasilev punishes Jackson's body with a nice straight punch.
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vasilev is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Vasilev circles away and we're back to standing.

Vasilev gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vasilev prevents the takedown attempt.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vasilev manages to break the clinch.
Jackson dives in for a single leg takedown but Vasilev sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Jackson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Vasilev lunges at Jackson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jackson's hand.
Jackson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Vasilev closes the distance and pushes Jackson back into the cage.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jackson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Vasilev works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Vasilev takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Jackson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vasilev gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jackson throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Vasilev manages to break the clinch.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vasilev paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice uppercut lands for Vasilev. That snapped Jackson's head back.
Jackson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Vasilev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Vladislav Vasilev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jackson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Vasilev throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Vasilev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Vasilev moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Jackson is rocked!
Jackson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Vasilev lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Vasilev with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Vasilev closes the distance and clinches.

Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jackson ducks right into an uppercut from Vasilev.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
