Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Gaarlandt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Gaarlandt as Machida shoots in.
Machida fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gaarlandt stuffs the takedown.
Ricardo Gaarlandt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Machida.
Gaarlandt moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Adam Machida has been cut.
Adam Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Machida with that takedown attempt.
Machida shoots in looking for a takedown but Gaarlandt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Machida's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Machida misses with a takedown attempt - Gaarlandt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Machida looks winded!
Machida tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gaarlandt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Machida somewhat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Machida shoots in and drives through. Gaarlandt sprawls well.
Gaarlandt lands a left and a right that send Machida crashing to the mat, dazed. Gaarlandt thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Machida is rocked!

Gaarlandt misses with a two punch combination.
Machida is still on wobbly legs! Can Gaarlandt finish him?
Machida slips a jab and a cross from Gaarlandt.
Gaarlandt is stalking Machida. Machida circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Gaarlandt, and it's lights out! Machida really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
