The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brennan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Garcia. Brennan takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Brennan moves in looking to clinch but Garcia pushes him off. Danga de danga de dang - Garcia scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Frederick Brennan has been cut. Garcia throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Garcia closes the distance and clinches. Garcia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brennan dodges the punch combination from Garcia.
Garcia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Garcia misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brennan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Brennan gets tackled into the cage by Garcia. Garcia maintains the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

A shot to the body from Brennan misses and Garcia counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Brennan feints and as Garcia raises his hands in defense, Brennan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Brennan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Frederick Brennan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Garcia cracks Brennan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Garcia. Beautiful body shot. Brennan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Brennan controls the position. Brennan throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Garcia is trying to escape the position but Brennan is controlling the position. Brennan really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Brennan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Frederick Brennan just wasn't active enough. Brennan drops his hands momentarily and Garcia takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Garcia looks winded!

Garcia gets caught flat footed, as Brennan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Brennan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Brennan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Garcia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

A close round but Travis Garcia will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Frederick Brennan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Brennan tries to keep at a distance but Garcia has taken the fight into the clinch. Brennan trying to control the position but instead, Garcia has worked for underhooks and has pushed Brennan into the cage. Garcia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Garcia throws a combination that misses and Brennan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Brennan slows the pace down in half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Brennan has Garcia pressed against the cage, preventing Garcia from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Garcia on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Garcia is looking to control Brennan's arms but Brennan gets an underhook and turns him. Now Garcia has his back to the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brennan is trying to maintain a safe position but Garcia gets an underhook and turns Brennan into the cage. Garcia tries to work over Brennan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Garcia trying to stall but Brennan improves his position.
Brennan decides to pull guard. Garcia stops Brennan from standing up. Brennan wants to sweep here but Garcia controlling him for the moment. Garcia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Brennan throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brennan controls Garcia momentarily but Garcia frees himself. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Garcia moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. A punch combination from Garcia misses. Travis Garcia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Garcia lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brennan circles away quickly and effectively. Brennan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brennan throws a right hand that Garcia ducks under and follows up with a left that Garcia also avoids with ease. Garcia throws a series of punches but Brennan moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcia circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Garcia, as that shot connected.
Brennan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Garcia is fending him off so far but Brennan persists. Nope, Garcia circles away and we're back to standing. Brennan closes the distance and clinches. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Garcia lands a left hand that snaps the head of Brennan backwards. Brennan looking to slow down the pace here. Garcia landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Brennan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Garcia's efforts to push away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brennan manages to pull guard.

Garcia lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Garcia throws a series of punches but Brennan moves out of range. Garcia misses with a jab, cross combination.
Garcia pushes Brennan up against the cage in a clinch. Garcia tries to break free but Brennan pushes him back against the cage. Brennan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Brennan closes the distance looking to clinch and Garcia counters with a lovely straight right hand! Garcia stalks Brennan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Brennan's face. Brennan staggers backwards, shaken. Garcia closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Garcia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brennan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Brennan misses with some punches.
Garcia looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Garcia closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Brennan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Garcia up against the cage. Brennan drags the fight down to the ground.
Garcia stops Brennan from standing up. Brennan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Brennan striking from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brennan doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Brennan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Garcia! Brennan is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Garcia has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brennan cracks Garcia with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
