Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charles Bartowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emunn Samvesu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bartowski comes to the cage accompanied by The Game. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Charles Bartowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Emunn Samvesu!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bartowski fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Samvesu, pushing him back against the cage.
Bartowski gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Samvesu.

Samvesu is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bartowski pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Bartowski lands a hook that snaps the head of Samvesu backwards.

Samvesu wants to take the fight to the mat but Bartowski manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Charles Bartowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emunn Samvesu.

Bartowski is fighting off a takedown attempt but Samvesu is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bartowski to the mat. Bartowski regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Samvesu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bartowski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bartowski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bartowski!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Samvesu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bartowski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Samvesu throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Bartowski escapes and throws Samvesu's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bartowski shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Samvesu eats them both and turns towards Bartowski to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Samvesu gets tackled into the cage by Bartowski. Bartowski maintains the clinch.
Samvesu drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bartowski pulls his leg out and moves away.

Samvesu is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bartowski is defending well for now.
Samvesu's coach down at The Cave Fighting Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Samvesu's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Samvesu has control of Bartowski's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bartowski regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Samvesu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bartowski sprawls well. Bartowski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Samvesu gets slowly back to his feet.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Samvesu can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
