Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Merrill Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Merrill Ford is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Merrill Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Anderson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson throws a head kick that misses. Anderson throws a body kick that misses. Anderson forces Ford back against the cage and clinches. Anderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ford tries for a takedown but Anderson circles away easily and Anderson counters by moving into the clinch. Anderson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ford gets caught napping as Anderson dives in and scores a takedown. Ford manages to retain guard. Ford seems keen to control Anderson's posture. Ford manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ford sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Anderson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Anderson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Anderson wants to control but Ford is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ford sitting and controlling from the half guard. Ford wants to control but Anderson is keeping him busy. Anderson wants to improve his position but Ford is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ford is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Merrill Ford just wasn't active enough. Anderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ford shoots in looking for a takedown but Anderson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ford's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Anderson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ford sprawls well initially but Anderson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ford holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Ford is trying to stand up here but Anderson is controlling him well. Ford is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Anderson pulls his head out easily. Ford is breathing heavily. Ford looking for submissions off his back. Anderson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ford has one foot on Anderson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Anderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Ford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Anderson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Anderson advances to half guard. Anderson is trying to control. Ford wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Charles Anderson was stalling too much, according to the referee. Anderson misses with the combination.
Anderson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anderson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ford is out of range and Anderson settles back down. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Anderson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nice takedown defense from Anderson. No joy for Ford on that attempt. Anderson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Anderson throws a push kick but Ford slaps the foot to one side. Ford changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to avoid it but Ford manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anderson to the ground. Anderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Anderson closes the distance and clinches. Anderson has Ford pressed against the cage.
Ford wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Anderson has him pressed against the cage. Anderson manages to pull guard.
Ford wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving. Anderson seems keen to control Ford's posture. Anderson is trying to keep Ford in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Anderson keeping moving, preventing Ford from controlling successfully. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Anderson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ford is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Anderson. Ford stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ford shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anderson defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Merrill Ford. That's going to take a lot out of him. Anderson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ford to the mat! Ford manages to get full guard. Ford is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ford throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Anderson trying to control but Ford is working from the bottom. Anderson stays in close to Ford's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Charles Anderson was stalling too much, according to the referee. Anderson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ford uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anderson.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Anderson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Anderson tries for a kimura but Ford is defending well. Ford struggling a bit here. Anderson decides to stand back up. Anderson steps back and let's Ford get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ford quickly recovers to half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Anderson trying to control from half guard but Ford is working away. Charles Anderson has got the better of the ground game so far. Ford is in trouble now - Anderson has advanced to mount! Ford tries to hold on but Anderson pushes him away. Anderson stands up from mount. Strange move. Anderson slaps away a takedown attempt from Ford, before circling back to the center of the mat. Anderson throws a sloppy head kick and Ford moves out of range easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anderson gets a clinch. Anderson has hold of one of Ford's legs. Ford is fighting the takedown attempt but Anderson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Anderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Ford's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Ford dives in and grabs Anderson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes down on Ford's head and hops out. Anderson stuffs the takedown attempt from Ford. Ford gets slowly back to his feet. Anderson moves into the clinch successfully.
Ford drops down looking for an ankle pick but Anderson pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Merrill Ford. That's going to take a lot out of him. Anderson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ford moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ford gets the takedown into side control. Anderson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ford is trying to control but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ford won't allow Anderson to pass to mount. Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Ford is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Charles Anderson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Sloppy strikes from Anderson. Those never looked like landing. Anderson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Ford is positioning himself well to prevent Anderson advancing to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ford misses with a takedown attempt and Anderson counters with an inside leg kick. Anderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ford! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anderson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ford to his feet. Ford closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ford lands in his opponent's guard. Ford throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ford wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving. Ford stopping the sweep attempt from Anderson. Ford avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson wants to stand up but Ford is controlling him. Anderson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ford! Ford wants to control but Anderson is having none of it. Merrill Ford has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Charles Anderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ford is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Anderson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that's the end of the fight! Charles Anderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
