Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tebato Nakara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Knife! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Knife, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nakara gets the takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Nakara sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Knife is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Nakara goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Knife has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nakara but great work by Knife. Nakara is trying to improve his position. Knife tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Nakara tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Knife wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Nakara struggling a bit here. Knife working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knife tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Knife trying to control the action but Nakara is working from the bottom. Knife advances to mount. Nakara is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Nakara avoids a series of strikes thrown by Knife.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakara is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Knife trying to control from Nakara's half guard. Nakara has other ideas though and has regained full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Knife working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Nakara looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Knife is defending well. Nakara quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Knife has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Nakara celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
