Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Baird! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Cook! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baird tries to keep at a distance but Cook has taken the fight into the clinch. Cook with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Cook is defending well against a takedown attempt. Baird is trying to break the clinch but Cook has him pressed against the cage. Cook working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
It looks like Joseph Baird has been cut. Cook breaks the clinch.
Baird takes one on the button. Cook throws a right and a left that Baird avoids nicely. Baird with a poor takedown and Cook moves into the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cook takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Cook escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cook gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baird blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cook. Baird has his hands clasped together around Cook's back. He's all about the action. Baird could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Baird blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cook. Cook is trying to control the action in half guard but Baird is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cook is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Baird sees it coming and defends easily. Baird wants to improve his position but Cook is controlling well.
Cook takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baird avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cook. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Cook thows a huge punch but Baird dodges it nicely.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chris Cook hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Cook closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Baird's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cook trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cook postures up in Baird's guard and throws a big left but Baird blocks it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cook accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cook throws a big elbow that misses. Baird is breathing heavily. Cook working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Cook lands a couple of decent looking shots. Cook lands a couple of digs. Cook slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Baird prevents Cook from improving position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cook scores with a couple of short elbows. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cook working the ground and pound. Cook wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baird, who protects the arm well. Cook is putting a hurting on Baird here, landing some big shots from side control.
Baird is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big shot lands for Cook! That's hurt Baird! Will he recover? Cook fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Cook! Our winner, Chris Cook, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
