Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Krimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Zenaldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert Zenaldo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Krimes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert Zenaldo!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krimes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zenaldo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Zenaldo gets a clinch.

Zenaldo breaks from the clinch.
Krimes misses with a takedown attempt

and Zenaldo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Krimes won't be happy with that.
Krimes seems a little lost for a moment, as Zenaldo dominates the positioning.
Zenaldo blocks the strikes from Krimes.
Krimes is trying to improve his position.
Zenaldo staying calm.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Zenaldo wants to stand but Krimes has his arm trapped.
Zenaldo has control of an arm but Krimes manages to advance to Zenaldo's back!

Krimes patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Zenaldo tries to break free.
Zenaldo turns into Krimes and is now in his guard.
Zenaldo is stalling in the full guard.

Krimes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Zenaldo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Zenaldo lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Zenaldo stands and throws Krimes's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Krimes tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Zenaldo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zenaldo is working for a guillotine from mount but Krimes frees his head quite easily.
Krimes is wriggling around trying to escape.

Zenaldo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Krimes has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Krimes is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zenaldo is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zenaldo is hanging on to Krimes's back as he tries to escape.

Zenaldo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Krimes defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Krimes wants to stand but Zenaldo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Zenaldo has his hands on Krimes's head, controlling the position.
Krimes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zenaldo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Krimes won't allow Zenaldo to get back to his feet.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zenaldo holds on and takes a little breather.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zenaldo can do anything to dispel that myth.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krimes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Krimes being controlled here momentarily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Robert Zenaldo was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Zenaldo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Krimes did well to prevent Zenaldo getting side control.

Krimes is trying to get back to full guard.
Zenaldo is taking a breather. Krimes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Krimes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Zenaldo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Zenaldo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Krimes has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Zenaldo is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Krimes can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Zenaldo with a couple of short strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Krimes can't escape the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Zenaldo looking to control and managing it successfully.
Let's hope that Zenaldo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Krimes is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Zenaldo has taken his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Zenaldo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Krimes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Zenaldo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Krimes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Zenaldo swats away the attempt to clinch by Krimes.
Krimes closes the distance and clinches up with Zenaldo, looking for a takedown. Krimes pushes Zenaldo against the cage but Zenaldo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Krimes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zenaldo lands a body shot.

Zenaldo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Zenaldo moves into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Zenaldo - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Krimes drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A bit of stalling here from Zenaldo.
Krimes jumps guard but Zenaldo stands there with Krimes around his waist. Krimes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Zenaldo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Krimes tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Zenaldo pulls Krimes into guard.

Zenaldo has Krimes pulled in close to control his posture.
Zenaldo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Krimes manages to get himself to full guard.
Zenaldo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Robert Zenaldo wasn't active enough on the ground.

Zenaldo rushes Krimes and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Krimes is trying to stall.

Zenaldo lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Krimes is trying to control but can't.
Zenaldo wants to stand up but Krimes is controlling the position.
Zenaldo has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Zenaldo lands a big elbow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zenaldo wants to stand but Krimes is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Krimes wants to hold on but Zenaldo pushes him away.
Zenaldo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zenaldo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Matt Krimes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Robert Zenaldo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Robert Zenaldo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Zenaldo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
