Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Elvis Wilcox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Miguel Tiot! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tiot rushes Wilcox and presses him up against the cage. Wilcox looking to slow down the pace here. Wilcox keeps control of Tiot as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Wilcox tries to stall but Tiot uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Wilcox misses with an elbow over the top. Tiot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wilcox really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Tiot leaves Wilcox with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tiot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wilcox tries to clinch up but Tiot circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tiot connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wilcox. Wilcox circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Sloppy strikes from Tiot. Those never looked like landing. Wilcox shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Wilcox content to control rather than advance. Tiot is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilcox not doing much here.
Wilcox is looking to take a break and control but Tiot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wilcox content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Elvis Wilcox. Tiot misses with the combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilcox tries to clinch there but Tiot circles away.
Wilcox fails with a takedown attempt. Tiot throws a nice looking combination but Wilcox bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Wilcox misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elvis Wilcox. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oooooh!!! Tiot has knocked Wilcox down with a huge combo! Tiot steps away and waves a wobbly Wilcox back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Wilcox is rocked!
It looks like Elvis Wilcox has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tiot lands with a big right hook that stumbles Wilcox - he's out on his feet here! Tiot follows up with another monster hook that separates Wilcox from consciousness! Wilcox falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Tiot stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Miguel Tiot!
