Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vince Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vince Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Lawson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green with a lazy takedown attempt
and Lawson counters with a big head kick but Green shrugs it off.

Green has taken the fight to the clinch.

Lawson breaks the clinch.
Lawson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Green circles away.

Green has closed the distance and engaged Lawson in a clinch.
Green managing to block the knees to the body from Lawson.
Lawson tries to pull guard but Green forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Green has clasped his hands together around Lawson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Lawson is being controlled here.
Green tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Lawson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Green is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lawson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Green has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Green has a takedown stuffed.
Lawson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Green sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Vince Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Lawson.
Green shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lawson but Lawson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lawson shoots in but Green avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lawson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Green is fending him off so far but Lawson persists. Nope, Green circles away and we're back to standing.

Green clinches with his opponent.

Lawson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lawson doesn't manage to clinch there - Green circles away.
Lawson throws a nice outside leg kick.

Green shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lawson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lawson tries to bench press Green off him but Green keeps the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Green happy to just control the position for now.
Lawson is looking to reverse the position.

Green stands up and beckons Lawson to his feet.

Lawson has Green up against the cage in a clinch.
Lawson gets underhooks to prevent Green's takedown attempt.
Lawson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lawson prevents Green from breaking the clinch.
Green drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Green has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lawson after a bit of a struggle.

Lawson goes for a takedown attempt but Green pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Green shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lawson defends it nicely.
Green misses with a takedown attempt - Lawson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lawson darts in looking for a takedown but Green gets double underhooks and turns Lawson into the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lawson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Green just stands there and leans against the cage.

Green gets control of Lawson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Green will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Green's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lawson swings for the body but Green moves out of range.
Green shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lawson defends it nicely.
Vince Green is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck for Green with that takedown attempt.
Lawson misses with a takedown attempt - Green sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lawson leaves Green with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Green throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Green shoots in but Lawson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lawson tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lawson to the ground. Lawson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Green misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lawson tries for a takedown but Green sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Green shoots in for a takedown but Lawson shows good takedown defense.
Lawson throws a nice looking combination but Green bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jack Lawson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lawson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Lawson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Green will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Green swats away the attempt to clinch by Lawson.
Lawson throws a combination that misses

and Green counters by clinching up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lawson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Green pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Green wants to break free but Lawson has control.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Green as Lawson tries to tie him up.
Green wants a takedown but no success here.

Green jumps into guard, dragging Lawson to the mat.
Green keeping moving, preventing Lawson from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Green is looking for a triangle but Lawson pushes his legs off easily.
Lawson is looking to stand up but Green won't let him.

Lawson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Green managing to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Green manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lawson manages to get himself to full guard.
Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lawson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Green shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lawson as he avoids it easily.

Green closes the distance and pushes Lawson back into the cage.
Lawson throws a head punch that misses.
Green has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lawson after a bit of a struggle.

Green breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Green circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lawson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Green shoots in for a double leg but Lawson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vince Green. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lawson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Green sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lawson somewhat.
Lawson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lawson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Green throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lawson's waist but Lawson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Green off to one side.
Green attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Green drives through and clinches with Lawson against the cage.

Green jumps guard and drags Lawson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Green manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lawson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Green tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Green controlling the position easily from mount.
Green has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vince Green.
Green fails with an attempt to clinch.
Green tries to close the distance and clinch but Lawson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Green gets a clinch.
Green keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lawson's efforts to push away.

Green has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lawson after a bit of a struggle.
Lawson is trying to pull guard but Green turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Lawson blocks the elbow strike.
Green wants to get back to striking at distance but Lawson won't allow it.
Lawson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Green gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Green goes for a takedown attempt but Lawson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vince Green showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Green has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
