Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maris Briedis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Bishop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maris Briedis! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briedis avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A punch lands to the side of Briedis 's head but he takes it in his stride. Briedis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bishop gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Bishop has Briedis pulled in close to control his posture. Bishop utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Briedis slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Briedis is chipping away with strikes.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bishop is looking to regain half guard here but Briedis keeps moving and retains side control.
Bishop sneaks out the side door and pushes Briedis away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Briedis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Briedis fails to land the takedown. Briedis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bishop sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Briedis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bishop circles away. Antonio Bishop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maris Briedis. Briedis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bishop.
Bishop shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Briedis napping and manages to drive through into side control!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop working away. Bishop in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Briedis is trying to improve his position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bishop's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bishop looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bishop is looking to take a break and control but Briedis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Briedis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bishop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Bishop tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Bishop stands up. Bishop misses with a jab, cross combination.
Briedis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bishop sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Bishop throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Bishop shoots in and drives through. Briedis sprawls well. Bishop is breathing heavily.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Briedis moves in looking to clinch but Bishop pushes him off. Briedis throws a sloppy head kick and Bishop moves out of range easily. Briedis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bishop throws a looping overhand right but Briedis ducks down to avoid it. Bishop lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Bishop slaps away a takedown attempt from Briedis, before circling back to the center of the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bishop fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bishop misses with a series of wild punches.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Bishop bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Briedis's head backwards.
Briedis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bishop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Briedis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bishop manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Briedis has Bishop in his guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Briedis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Bishop pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Briedis is keeping the position for now. Bishop trying to control the position from guard on top but Briedis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Briedis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bishop stopping the sweep attempt from Briedis.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bishop keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Briedis misses with a double jab
and Bishop counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sloppy strikes from Bishop. Those never looked like landing. Briedis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bishop's waist but Bishop gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Briedis off to one side. Briedis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Briedis wants it to stay on the feet. Antonio Bishop is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Briedis dips to his left and cracks Bishop with an uppercut! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Briedis is defended easily by Bishop. Briedis misses with a takedown and Bishop counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Antonio Bishop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maris Briedis. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Briedis scores with a takedown into Bishop's guard. Bishop wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Briedis trying to control but Bishop is working from the bottom.

 OK we're going to have a standup here. Maris Briedis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Bishop bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Briedis is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bishop asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Bishop is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Briedis has escaped the position, nice work there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Briedis is trying to control Bishop's posture but Bishop avoids it. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Antonio Bishop will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Briedis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bishop tries to avoid it but Briedis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bishop to the ground. Bishop escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A swing and a miss from Bishop. Bishop shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Briedis defends it nicely. Maris Briedis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bishop misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Briedis lands a leg kick that knocks Bishop off balance momentarily. Briedis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bishop but Bishop pushes him off and we're back to square one. Briedis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Briedis dives in and grabs Bishop's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bishop pushes down on Briedis's head and hops out. Antonio Bishop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maris Briedis. Briedis tries to clinch but Bishop is having none of it. Briedis darts in looking for a takedown but Bishop gets double underhooks and turns Briedis into the cage. Briedis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Briedis misses with a body punch.
Briedis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bishop walks away with a smile on his face. Briedis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Briedis thumps Bishop with a low kick. Briedis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bishop circles away quickly and effectively. Briedis tries for a takedown but Bishop sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Briedis with a poor takedown enabling Bishop to counter with a crisp jab. Bishop tests Briedis's chin there with a solid looking shot. Bishop lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Briedis staying out of range there. Briedis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bishop circles away. Briedis darts in looking for a takedown but Bishop gets double underhooks and turns Briedis into the cage. Antonio Bishop is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Maris Briedis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bishop checks a leg kick nicely.
Bishop closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Briedis quickly recovers to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bishop takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bishop is thwarting Briedis's attempts to control the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Bishop is controlling the pace.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
 Antonio Bishop has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Bishop scores with a nice strike. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bishop misses with a two punch combination.

And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Bishop showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bishop, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
