Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mic Hael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hael's choice of entrance music: WISE MAN AND HIS WORDS by Wiley. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mic Hael!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hael.
Charles tests Hael's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hael throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Charles tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hael counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Charles thinking.
Charles moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hael scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hael throws a jab when Charles was well out of range.
Charles shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Charles lands with a hook. Hael tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Charles on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Charles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Charles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hael manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hael cracks Charles with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Hael cracks Charles with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Charles keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Charles looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Charles enables Hael to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Charles manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Charles avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hael passes into half guard.

Hael looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hael seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Charles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hael is trying to work for a kimura but Charles is defending well.
Charles trying to control from the bottom.
Hael throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Charles makes his way to full guard, as Hael worked for a kimura.
Hael wants to pass the guard but Charles is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Charles managing to control the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hael accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hael trying to control but Charles is working from the bottom.
Hael is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Hael looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hael throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Charles managing to control the position.
My spies in HILITE Fighting Club inform me that Hael has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Charles misses with a wild body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mic Hael dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Hael feints and as Charles raises his hands in defense, Hael changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Charles utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hael stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Charles is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Charles is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hael throws a big right hand that misses.
Hael passes Charles's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Hael is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hael throwing shots but Charles is blocking nicely.
Charles holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Hael scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Charles regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hael.

Hael postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Charles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hael, into his guard.
Hael is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hael wants to lay and pray for a moment but Charles keeps working.
Charles regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hael.
Charles keeping moving, preventing Hael from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Charles is trying to control the position but Hael postures up.
Hael wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving.
Charles is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mic Hael wasn't active enough on the ground.
Charles closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Charles turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A head kick misses from Hael.
Hael fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Charles on the side of the head.
Hael loads up on a big right hand but Charles slips the punch.
Charles lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Charles is looking to clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hael needs to keep his hands up - Charles had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Mic Hael has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hael lands an overhand right.
Charles defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hael.
Charles will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Mic Hael will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Hael tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hael circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hael looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
No luck for Hael with that takedown attempt.
Hael throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hael tries to bum rush Charles with a series of wild strikes but Charles uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hael takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Charles checks a leg kick.
Charles checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hael dives in and grabs Charles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Charles pushes down on Hael's head and hops out.
David Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mic Hael.

Charles has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hael blocks a body shot from Charles.
Hael blocks an uppercut.
Charles scores with a shoulder strike.
Hael has Charles pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Charles manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Charles fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A head punch on the inside from Charles fails to land.
Hael tries to score a body lock takedown but Charles shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hael takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Charles lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Charles lands an elbow just above Hael 's eye.
Hael has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Charles after a bit of a struggle.

Charles lands an elbow that stopped Hael in his tracks for a moment.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hael.
Charles throws a head punch that misses.
Charles lands a damaging elbow.
Hael goes for a takedown attempt but Charles pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hael lands a left hand that snaps the head of Charles backwards.

Charles lands a right hand.
Hael tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Charles just stands there and leans against the cage.
Charles lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Charles lands a nice knee to the body.
Charles pushes Hael back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Charles lands with a left to the head.


Hael is rocked!
Charles lands with a short shot to the head.
Hael is still on wobbly legs! Can Charles finish him?
Hael takes an elbow to the temple.
A nice right hand lands inside from Charles.
A short left from Charles.
A hook to the body from Charles.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Charles.
Mic Hael is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Charles lands a hook to the side of the head.
Charles lands a big right hand! Hael is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). David Charles!
A relieved looking David Charles thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
