Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tracey Gamble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy Fil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fil instigates a clinch.
Gamble really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Guy Fil hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Fil shoots in for a takedown but Gamble shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gamble escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fil gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Fil fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gamble.
Fil changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gamble tries to avoid it but Fil manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gamble to the ground. Gamble escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fil ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fil no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Gamble is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fil is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Gamble sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Gamble dives in and grabs Fil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fil pushes down on Gamble's head and hops out.

Fil looks to land a combination. Gamble sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Fil is breathing heavily.
Fil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gamble avoids it really well and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fil has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gamble uses from the top position.
