Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karol Cropp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chilemba Murithi! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cropp misses with a left hand and Murithi counters with a thumping low kick. Cropp throws a series of punches but Murithi avoids them all with ease. Cropp has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Murithi. Cropp lands a jab. Nice takedown defense from Murithi. No joy for Cropp on that attempt. Murithi looks to land a body kick but Cropp moved away. Murithi scores with a sloppy right hand. Cropp should have avoided that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Murithi slips a jab and a cross from Cropp.
Murithi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Murithi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Cropp scores with a takedown into Murithi's guard. Cropp throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murithi looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Murithi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cropp. Murithi trying to control the position.
Cropp is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Murithi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cropp throws a right and a left that both miss. Nice shot by Cropp. We've been informed that Murithi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Cropp scores with a nice strike. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cropp blocks the body kick.
Cropp throws a looping overhand right but Murithi ducks down to avoid it. Murithi feints and then cracks Cropp's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cropp down. Murithi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cropp comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Murithi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murithi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cropp tests Murithi's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cropp throws a poor cross that misses
and Cropp takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Murithi throws a quick inside leg kick. Murithi throws the kick towards the body but Cropp avoids it. Cropp misses the jab. Murithi misses with an uppercut. Cropp saw that one coming. Cropp throws a right hand that Murithi ducks under and follows up with a left that Murithi also avoids with ease. Cropp lands with a right hand.
It looks like Chilemba Murithi has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cropp fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Murithi manages to avoid it. Murithi is looking to score with low kicks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cropp lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Murithi at a distance.

Cropp throws a leg kick but Murithi sees it coming and checks it nicely. Murithi ducks under a wild hook from Cropp. Cropp takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cropp will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Murithi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cropp scores with a crisp jab that stopped Murithi in his tracks. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A lazy left from Cropp finds it's target. Cropp throws an overhand right that lands on Murithi's shoulder, as Murithi tries to avoid the shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karol Cropp dominated that round. The cut man is working on Chilemba Murithi's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Murithi slips under a jab. Karol Cropp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cropp ducks right into an uppercut from Murithi. Murithi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Cropp scores with the left hand. Murithi knows he should have avoided that one. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Murithi staying out of range there. Cropp blocks a head kick by Murithi.
Cropp tries to score a power double leg takedown but Murithi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cropp somewhat. Murithi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Murithi wants it to stay on the feet. Murithi misses with a wild body shot. Cropp comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murithi takes a shot right to the bread basket. A big right from Cropp misses. Cropp misses with the combination.
Cropp connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Cropp on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Cropp lands a nice hook to Murithi's body. Murithi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Murithi dodges the punch combination from Cropp.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A left lands for Cropp. Murithi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cropp's head. Murithi thuds his shin into the meat of Cropp's side. Murithi misses the shot to the body. Cropp throws a looping overhand right but Murithi ducks down to avoid it. Murithi looks for the body kick but Cropp saw that one coming. Cropp lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Murithi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Murithi connects with a leg kick. Cropp looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Oooh a lovely combination from Cropp sends Murithi down but not out. Cropp dives into side control looking to finish.
Murithi is rocked! A lull in the action here as Cropp stalls from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murithi dodges the ground and pound from Cropp. Cropp creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Murithi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cropp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cropp tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The strikes coming from Cropp are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Murithi struggling a bit here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sloppy strikes there by Cropp. Cropp content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Cropp working away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cropp thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Murithi struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murithi is trying to improve his position. Cropp scoring with punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cropp in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Murithi looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Cropp turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karol Cropp! In his post fight interview, Karol Cropp started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
