Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stefano Kolano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Mettler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stefano Kolano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateus Mettler! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mettler tries to clinch up. Mettler shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mettler is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kolano.
It looks like Mateus Mettler has been cut. Kolano lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kolano. A punch combination from Kolano misses. Mettler moves into range and clinches up with Kolano. Kolano is trying to break the clinch but Mettler is controlling him. Mettler has Kolano pushed against the cage. Mettler wants a takedown but no success here.
Kolano looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kolano goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mettler drags the fight down to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mettler has a closed guard, preventing Kolano from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kolano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mettler has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kolano has managed to get both his arms back between Mettler's legs - danger averted. Mettler looking to control.
Kolano has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mettler is proving hard to escape from. Mettler lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kolano! Kolano taking shots to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kolano is squirming around, avoiding Mettler's attempts to control the action. Mettler misses with a head shot. Mettler sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Mettler trying to control but Kolano is having none of it. Mettler might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kolano haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mettler throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Mettler wants to control the pace but Kolano is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mettler sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Kolano suckers Mettler into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Kolano is now in Mettler's guard!
Mettler is looking to sweep but instead, Kolano has passed into half guard.
Kolano wants to stand but Mettler has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mateus Mettler will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mateus Mettler's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mettler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kolano sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mettler somewhat. Kolano's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kolano duly obliges. Kolano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A punch combination from Kolano misses. Kolano lands a jab-cross combination. Stefano Kolano is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kolano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kolano wants it to stay on the feet. Mettler fails with an attempt to clinch.
A punch combination from Mettler misses. Kolano looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mettler misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Stefano Kolano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateus Mettler. Mettler tries to clinch but Kolano moves out of range. Stefano Kolano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kolano!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kolano rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mettler moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kolano connects with the punch. Mettler tries to clinch but Kolano moves out of range. Mettler wants to clinch up but Kolano keeps it at a distance. Mettler moves into range and clinches up with Kolano. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Mettler is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kolano to keep the fight standing. Kolano misses with a punch to the body.
Kolano wants to break free but Mettler has control.
Mettler wants to take the fight to the mat but Kolano manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mettler jumps guard but Kolano turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Kolano prevents the takedown attempt.
Mettler fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mettler changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kolano fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kolano throws a series of punches but Mettler avoids them all with ease. Mettler closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kolano circles away. Stefano Kolano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mettler fails with the takedown. Mettler is breathing heavily. Kolano looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kolano digs a good body shot into Mettler's ribs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mettler fails to land the takedown. Stefano Kolano is winning the standup battle so far. Mettler slips a jab and a cross from Kolano.
Kolano lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Kolano pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mettler is out of range and Kolano settles back down. Mettler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kolano as he jumps to the side. Kolano dodges the punch combination from Mettler.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kolano lands an overhand right. Mettler tries for a takedown but Kolano sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mettler throws a wild hook but Kolano just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Mettler gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Kolano raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stefano Kolano!
