Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Stavros Pontious! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Gibbler! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibbler throws a shot from downtown. Pontious moves away and avoids it. Gibbler fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Gibbler swings away with a leg kick that misses. We've been told by Pontious's head coaches at Tycoon Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gibbler dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Stavros Pontious seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pontious swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A big left from Pontious misses. Pontious throws a series of strikes that have Gibbler backpedaling.

Pontious moves out of range of the leg kick from Gibbler. Pontious takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
This has been an exciting period of action! Pontious misses with a double jab
enabling Gibbler to counter with a crisp jab. Gibbler's coach down at The Pit was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gibbler's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Pontious misses with a two punch combination.

Good work by Pontious as he checks the leg kick. Pontious throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gibbler counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gibbler fails to land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gibbler connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pontious's hands. Pontious lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Gibbler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pontious sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pontious throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gibbler counters with a stiff right hand.
Pontious is rocked! Pontious looks to land a combination but Gibbler avoids it well. Oh Pontious is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pontious lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gibbler circles away quickly and effectively. Pontious seems to have got his legs back now. Gibbler is stalking Pontious. Pontious circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Gibbler, and it's lights out! Pontious really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jim Gibbler!
