Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fyodor Petrovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paso Leati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Leati's choice of entrance music: Babylon 5. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fyodor Petrovic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paso Leati! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petrovic moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Leati avoids the head kick by Petrovic.
Petrovic swings widly with a right hand
and Leati decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Petrovic's guard. Petrovic keeping moving, preventing Leati from controlling successfully. Leati keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Petrovic's head. Leati throwing strikes from guard but Petrovic blocks nicely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Leati trying to control but Petrovic is working from the bottom. Leati loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Leati postures up in Petrovic's guard and throws a big left but Petrovic blocks it. Leati throwing strikes from guard but Petrovic blocks nicely. Leati trying to control but Petrovic is working from the bottom. Petrovic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leati on the ground. Leati trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Leati trying to control but Petrovic is working from the bottom. Petrovic has momentary wrist control but Leati slips an elbow through the middle. Petrovic wants to sweep but no luck. Leati is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Leati throws a strike but Petrovic rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Leati looking for a sweep. Not yet Leati, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Leati is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petrovic keeping moving, preventing Leati from controlling successfully. Leati stops Petrovic from standing up. Leati controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Leati throws a big right hand that misses. Leati throwing strikes from guard but Petrovic blocks nicely. Leati loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Leati throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Leati trying to control but Petrovic is working from the bottom. It looks like Fyodor Petrovic has been cut. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Petrovic keeping full guard, as Leati tries to pass. Leati trying to control but Petrovic is working from the bottom. Leati's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Leati trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrovic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Petrovic has momentary wrist control but Leati slips an elbow through the middle. Leati throws a big elbow that misses. We've been hearing good reports from Petrovic's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Leati keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Petrovic's head. Leati controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Paso Leati wasn't active enough on the ground. Leati fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Leati fails with a takedown attempt. Petrovic throws a head kick that misses. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A head kick misses from Petrovic. Petrovic swings for the body but Leati moves out of range.
Petrovic tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paso Leati dominated that round. The cut man is working on Fyodor Petrovic's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Leati misses with a wild body shot. Petrovic gets a clinch. Petrovic pushes off an throws an elbow but Leati leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Petrovic lands an elbow inside that Leati shrugs off.
It looks like Paso Leati has been cut. Leati lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Petrovic backwards. Leati tries a body shot but Petrovic blocks it.
Petrovic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Leati trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrovic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Leati won't allow Petrovic to sweep him here. Leati has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Leati postures up and lands a big shot to Petrovic's brow. Leati trying to control but Petrovic is working from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Leati's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Leati is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Petrovic is rocked! Leati advances position into side control! Oh Petrovic is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Leati controls the position. Petrovic takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Leati trying to control the position but Petrovic is working away. Leati lands a strong strike to the head of Petrovic. That's dazed him! Leati looking to finish here. Petrovic is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Leati lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
