Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Strange!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nikita Klitschko!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strange misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Klitschko.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Klitschko, right into the meat.
Strange shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Klitschko as he avoids it easily.
Klitschko tries to land a front kick but Strange steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Strange misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Klitschko.
Klitschko takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Klitschko is looking to clinch.

I was talking to Strange's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

The referee calls for Klitschko to work.
Strange throws a head punch that misses.
Klitschko tries to stall but Strange uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Klitschko tries to throw a body punch but Strange avoids it by throwing Klitschko back against the cage.

Strange is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Strange misses with a punch on the inside.
Strange working aggressively here.
Strange gets through Klitschko's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Strange wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Strange tries to score a body lock takedown but Klitschko shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Strange drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simon Strange. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Strange has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Strange is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Klitschko still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Klitschko has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Strange tries to improve position but can't.
Strange can't do much from the bottom here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Strange is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Strange manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simon Strange dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Strange uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

and Strange counters with a shoot takedown. Klitschko fights it but they end up in guard.
Strange in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Strange stands and throws Klitschko's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Strange is working to tighten his grip on Klitschko's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Klitschko has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Strange is really squeezing tight and eventually Klitschko passes out! Strange breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Simon Strange!
An out of breath Simon Strange thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
