Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Donelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Donelly's entrance music is Jump Around. A fine choice. Flare has chosen Also Sprach Zarathustra as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Donelly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Flare! The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid body kick from Donelly. Donelly has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Zombie Zoo in the buildup to the fight. Flare shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Flare avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Donelly swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Donelly fails with an attempt to clinch.
A big left from Donelly misses. Donelly tries to sprawl but Flare drives through with a takedown into half guard. Flare is looking to take a break and control but Donelly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Flare thows a huge punch but Donelly dodges it nicely.
Flare throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Donelly wants to get back to full guard. Flare is keen to just control but Donelly is a slippery customer. Flare is working for an americana but Donelly has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Flare was thinking about the submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flare trying to control but Donelly is working from the bottom. Flare working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Flare throwing strikes but missing. Donelly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Flare throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Flare postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Donelly is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Flare, into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flare wants to sweep but no luck. Donelly not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Flare working a defensive guard here.
Flare has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Donelly looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joseph Donelly. Donelly lands a nice leg kick that just misses Flare's sensitive parts. Donelly looks to throw the jab but Flare is out of range. Flare drops his hands momentarily and Donelly takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Donelly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Joseph Donelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Donelly scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Flare doesn't seem bothered though. Horrible takedown by Flare or perhaps it was just good defense by Donelly which made him look bad. Donelly throws the kick towards the body but Flare avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flare shoots in but Donelly avoids the takedown attempt easily. Joseph Donelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Flare. Donelly misses with a double jab
and Flare counters with a nice double leg into side control. Donelly won't be happy with that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Donelly is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Flare throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Donelly is trying to control Flare's posture but Flare avoids it. Flare wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Donelly, who protects the arm well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flare fails to land a wild elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rick Flare will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Donelly fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. A good leg kick by Donelly. Donelly lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Rick Flare has been cut. Flare fails with a takedown attempt. Flare shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Donelly connects with a high kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Donelly misses with an uppercut. Donelly throws out a loose jab but Flare uses good head movement to avoid it. Flare has a takedown stuffed. Joseph Donelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Flare. Good shot there by Donelly. and Flare counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donelly scores with a decent looking hook. Donelly tries to clinch up but Flare circles away and keeps his distance. Donelly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Donelly throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Flare's head. Flare fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Donelly avoids it really well and circles away. Donelly throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Horrible takedown by Flare or perhaps it was just good defense by Donelly which made him look bad. Donelly cracks Flare with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donelly throws a shot from downtown. Flare moves away and avoids it. Donelly lands a front kick. Flare misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Some bone on bone action there as Flare checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Donelly lands a nice shot that snaps Flare's head back.

Joseph Donelly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This has been an exciting period of action! Flare looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Donelly is fending him off so far but Flare persists. Nope, Donelly circles away and we're back to standing. Flare takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Donelly throws a nice outside leg kick. Donelly swings away with a leg kick that misses. Donelly closes the distance and pushes Flare back into the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flare is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Donelly lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Flare lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Flare swings wildly with an uppercut but Donelly uses good head movement to avoid it. Flare misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Donelly lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Donelly tries to work over Flare's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Donelly lands a shot to the body. A head punch on the inside from Flare fails to land. Donelly lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Donelly lands a body punch in the clinch. Donelly lands with a left to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Flare presses Donelly against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A shot in the inside from Donelly. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Donelly as Flare tries to tie him up. Flare tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Donelly's elbow.

Flare stalling in the clinch but Donelly improves position. Donelly lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Flare is breathing heavily. Flare takes a shot to the head. A short right hand to the side of the head by Donelly. Donelly unloads a knee to the mid-section. Flare lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Donelly lands an elbow that stopped Flare in his tracks for a moment. Donelly comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Nice body punch from Donelly. A short uppercut from Donelly. Joseph Donelly has scored more points in the clinch so far. Donelly digs a right hand into Flare's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Flare's gas tank. Donelly lands a right hand that snaps the head of Flare backwards. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Donelly lands a hook that snaps the head of Flare backwards. Flare is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Donelly is keeping busy. Flare swings wildly with an uppercut but Donelly uses good head movement to avoid it. Donelly lands a damaging elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joseph Donelly dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Rick Flare's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Flare takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Flare fails with a takedown attempt. Flare takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Donelly looks to land a combination but Flare avoids it well. Donelly takes a swing at Flare's ribcage but misses. Flare uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Donelly. Flare circles away from the clinch attempt.
Donelly moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Flare shoots in for a takedown but Donelly shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Flare takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Donelly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Donelly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Flare was well out of range. Poor timing from Donelly. Flare slips a jab and a cross from Donelly.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Donelly. Good work by Flare as he checks the leg kick. Flare lunges at Donelly with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Donelly's hand. Donelly swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Donelly lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Flare shoots in looking for a takedown. Donelly tries to sprawl out of it but Flare keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Donelly manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Joseph Donelly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Flare. Donelly looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Donelly throws a combination. Flare tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Donelly leaves Flare with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Donelly lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Flare misses with a short punch on the inside. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Donelly creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Donelly lands an elbow that stopped Flare in his tracks for a moment. Donelly scores with a shoulder strike. Donelly lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Donelly misses with a body punch.
Donelly lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Flare backwards. Flare changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Donelly fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Donelly wants to clinch up but Flare keeps it at a distance. Donelly catches Flare with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Donelly looks to score with a jab to the body but Flare is just out of range.

Flare is trying to maintain a safe position but Donelly gets an underhook and turns Flare into the cage. Donelly stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Flare misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Donelly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Flare can do to turn this around? Good body shot from Flare.
