Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Advice Mallard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kato Munechika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munechika has chosen Requiem for a Dream as his entrance music. Kato Munechika will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Advice Mallard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kato Munechika!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Chris Dean and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallard throws the kick towards the body but Munechika avoids it.
Mallard gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Munechika gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mallard to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mallard pushes down on Munechika's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mallard stops Munechika from getting back to his feet.

Munechika seems keen to control Mallard's posture.
Mallard drops back looking for a leg! Munechika is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Munechika manages to kick Mallard off! Mallard jumps back into Munechika's guard.
Mallard tries to free his leg and advance position but Munechika is retaining full guard.

Munechika has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Mallard has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Mallard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Munechika just stands there and leans against the cage.
Mallard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mallard jumps guard but Munechika stands there with Mallard around his waist. Mallard gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Munechika's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Munechika breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Munechika connects with a leg kick. Mallard looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Mallard takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Munechika throws a right hand that Mallard ducks under and follows up with a left that Mallard also avoids with ease.

Mallard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Munechika avoids it really well and circles away.

Mallard shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Munechika counters with a nice uppercut.
Mallard throws out a loose jab but Munechika uses good head movement to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mallard shoots in for a double leg but Munechika sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Munechika lands a left and a right that send Mallard crashing to the mat, dazed. Munechika thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Munechika pushes Mallard up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Mallard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Munechika is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Mallard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Munechika smiles and moves away.
Munechika connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Munechika throws a monster overhand right that drops Mallard! Munechika follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kato Munechika!
