Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Cooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Threadgood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Cooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Buddy Threadgood!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Threadgood.
Cooke cracks Threadgood with a right hand to the side of the head.
Threadgood lunges at Cooke with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cooke's hand.


It looks like Eric Cooke has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cooke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Threadgood swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Threadgood scores with a shot to the body.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Threadgood and Cooke goes tumbling to the canvas! Threadgood follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Threadgood not doing much here.
Threadgood seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Threadgood is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cooke defends it well.

Cooke is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Threadgood pulls his head out easily.
Threadgood has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Elite Performance Training Center. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Cooke is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Threadgood is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Threadgood is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Threadgood is pressing down on Cooke's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cooke is holding on for now.
Cooke is looking for a sweep. Threadgood is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Threadgood connects with a nice short shot to Cooke's temple.
Cooke moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Cooke has momentary wrist control but Threadgood slips an elbow through the middle.
Threadgood chips away with some ground and pound.
Threadgood lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Cooke seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Cooke controls Threadgood momentarily but Threadgood frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cooke is on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cooke looking to sit in guard and control but Threadgood gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cooke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Threadgood is aware though and is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Threadgood gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cooke is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Threadgood postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Threadgood passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Cooke tries to improve position but can't.
Cooke sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Threadgood working over Cooke with some ground and pound. Cooke looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Threadgood takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Cooke is trying to get back to full guard.
Threadgood looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cooke wants to control but Threadgood is keeping busy.
Threadgood looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Threadgood is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Threadgood thows a huge punch but Cooke dodges it nicely.
Threadgood is looking to take a break and control but Cooke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cooke makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cooke.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cooke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Threadgood seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Cooke wants to clinch up but Threadgood keeps it at a distance.
Threadgood keeps the fight on the outside.
Cooke has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Threadgood.
Cooke listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Threadgood dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cooke. That did some damage!

Threadgood closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Threadgood lands in his opponent's guard.

Threadgood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Threadgood has managed to get both his arms back between Cooke's legs - danger averted.

Cooke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Threadgood doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Threadgood manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Buddy Threadgood was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Cooke tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Threadgood manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cooke is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Threadgood Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Cooke is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Buddy Threadgood!
Buddy Threadgood tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
