Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Victorio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victorio comes to the cage accompanied by Massive Attack - Angel. Ivey is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Friday. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
38 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonny Victorio! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
40 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Ivey! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Victorio throws a low kick, looking for Ivey's leg but Ivey calmly moves out of range. Victorio misses with a lunging right hand
and Ivey counters with a takedown into side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Ivey taking a breather here. Victorio sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Victorio trying to control but Ivey postures up.
Ivey is trying to control the action in half guard but Victorio is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ivey not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ivey slips a nice elbow through Victorio's hands, connecting with Victorio's forehead. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ivey is trying to control. Victorio wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ivey throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Victorio to regain full guard. Victorio working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ivey. Ivey sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Victorio's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Victorio tries to get to full guard but Ivey has control of the leg. Ivey trying to control the pace. Victorio regains full guard. Nicely done. Victorio has control of Ivey's left arm, preventing Ivey from doing any damage. Victorio utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Victorio is looking for a triangle but Ivey pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Victorio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ivey is one step ahead there. Ivey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Victorio swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ivey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ivey is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ivey scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ivey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ivey makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ivey stands and throws Victorio's legs to the side, diving into side control. Victorio wants to control but Ivey postures up. Victorio is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Ivey fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Victorio is looking to reverse the position. Victorio is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ivey connects with a decent elbow. Victorio is looking for a sweep. Ivey is chipping away with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ivey lands some shots froms side control. Ivey working the strikes but Victorio uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Ivey wants to pass the guard but Victorio is defending well. Ivey is looking to take a break and control but Victorio is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ivey missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ivey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Victorio's head. Ivey throws a strike but Victorio manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Ivey tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jonny Victorio! Jonny Victorio retains his light heavyweight title! Jonny Victorio decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
