Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Virgil Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee Sin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Virgil Ross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lee Sin! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the body from Sin misses and Ross counters with a nice double leg into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Sin keeping full guard, as Ross tries to pass. Ross drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sin! Ross really is a fat lump. Ross tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The strikes coming from Sin are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Ross on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ross manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ross stalling away here and it's allowed Sin to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Ross throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ross content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Ross might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ross trying to control the position from guard on top but Sin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sin wants to stand and escape but Ross is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ross landing some decent shots from guard. Ross throws a big elbow that misses. Ross throws a big right hand that misses. Ross looking to sit in guard and control but Sin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ross not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Virgil Ross wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Ross shoots in looking for a takedown but Sin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ross's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sin gets in close and instigates a clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sin being controlled against the cage. Ross tries for a takedown but Sin manages to get underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross dives in and grabs Sin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sin pushes down on Ross's head and hops out. Ross is breathing heavily. Sin lands with a nice combination. Ross backs away looking to recover. Sin lands a two punch combo.
Sin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ross's head backwards. Sin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ross's waist but Ross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sin off to one side. Sin swinging wildly here.
Ross is looking to clinch. Sin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ross is looking to take this one to the mat. Ross tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sin's elbow. Sin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ross fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ross is defending well but Sin drives through and ends up in Ross's guard. Ross working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sin. Sin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ross's guard. Ross has hold of Sin's hands but Sin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ross avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sin. Ross taking some punishment here, with Sin in his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ross tries to roll over but Sin keeps him under control. Sin throwing shots but Ross is blocking nicely. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ross tries to get to full guard but Sin has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Sin dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Ross drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sin gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Sin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sin forces Ross back against the cage and clinches. Ross wants a takedown but no success here.

Sin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Sin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ross under the eye. Sin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ross, pushing him back against the cage. Ross throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Ross connects with a knee to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sin lands a body punch in the clinch. Sin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sin is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Sin displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Sin looks to score with a jab to the body but Ross is just out of range. Sin gets a clinch. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sin. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Ross obliges. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ross is trying to break free. Ross trying to land knees to the body.

Sin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Sin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ross avoids it really well and circles away. Sin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ross backs up against the cage.
Virgil Ross is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sin throws out a powerful jab. Sin swinging wildly here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sin throws a right and a left that both miss. Sin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ross slips under a jab from Sin. Sin throws a right and a left that both miss. Sin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ross shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ross was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Ross looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ross asserts his dominance and retains side control.

You can see the frustration on Sin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ross wants to control but Sin is keeping him busy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ross has just dragged him back down to the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Sin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Sin. No joy for Ross on that attempt. Sin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sin wants it to stay on the feet. Sin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sin prevents Ross from getting back to his feet. Sin is fighting to break Ross's control of his arms but Ross is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Sin preventing the sweep. Ross is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sin passes Ross's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sin clinches up with Ross and pushes him back against the cage. Ross has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Ross blocks a body shot from Sin. Ross wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Sin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice jab there from Sin. Ross gets tackled into the cage by Sin. Sin maintains the clinch. Ross is looking for a takedown. Sin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ross.
Ross has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Sin manages to break the clinch.

Virgil Ross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lee Sin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
