Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aslak Joikhaaja! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Rocket! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Rocket. Rocket works the jab nicely. Joikhaaja with a poor takedown and Rocket counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Joikhaaja has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Joikhaaja there as he acknowledges the shot. Rocket stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rocket wants it to stay on the feet. Joikhaaja has his takedown stuffed and Rocket counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aslak Joikhaaja. That's going to take a lot out of him. Joikhaaja is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rocket sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Joikhaaja gets the takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rocket takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Joikhaaja wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rocket keeps working. Rocket struggling a bit here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Joikhaaja tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Rocket managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Joikhaaja.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rocket tries to bench press Joikhaaja off him but Joikhaaja keeps the position. Rocket avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Joikhaaja. Rocket tries to escape but Joikhaaja is in control. Joikhaaja tries to score with some ground and pound. Rocket controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Joikhaaja tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Joikhaaja throws a strike aimed at the side of Rocket's head but Rocket avoids it well. Rocket can't do much from the bottom here. Rocket is looking to regain half guard here but Joikhaaja keeps moving and retains side control. Joikhaaja is putting a hurting on Rocket here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rocket wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Rocket is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Joikhaaja off and has taken his back! Joikhaaja can't escape the position.
Joikhaaja might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Joikhaaja just trying to survive but Rocket is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Joikhaaja is trying to get back to his feet but Rocket has full control of the position and if anything, Joikhaaja has just worked his way into a worse spot. Rocket wants to stand up but Joikhaaja is stuck to his back. Rocket controlling well, preventing Joikhaaja from escaping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Joikhaaja is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Rocket jumps into side control! Joikhaaja is looking to reverse the position. Rocket tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Joikhaaja is looking for a sweep. Rocket tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Joikhaaja is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Johnny Rocket is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rocket swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Joikhaaja fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rocket avoids it really well and circles away. Rocket bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Rocket wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Joikhaaja gets slowly back to his feet. Joikhaaja is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rocket sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Rocket has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Joikhaaja shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rocket pinned against the cage. Joikhaaja has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. That was a close second round but I would say that Aslak Joikhaaja will probably get the nod. That's time! Joikhaaja's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

This has been an exciting period of action! Joikhaaja shoots for a double leg takedown but Rocket sprawls well. He's pushed Joikhaaja's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Joikhaaja throws a low kick but Rocket moves out of range easily. Joikhaaja fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Joikhaaja shoots in but Rocket avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joikhaaja shoots in and drives through. Rocket sprawls well. Rocket fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Joikhaaja on the side of the head. Joikhaaja with a poor takedown and Rocket counters with a crisp one two that drops Joikhaaja! Rocket thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Joikhaaja to his feet! Joikhaaja is in big trouble!
Joikhaaja is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rocket ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Joikhaaja's jaw. Joikhaaja's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Rocket does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
