Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mats Sundin Smit! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smit leaves Simpson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Simpson throws a head kick that misses. Simpson wants to clinch and Smit counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Smit has picked Simpson up - he's going for a ride! Smit dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Smit gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Simpson tries to clinch up. Smit gets in close and instigates a clinch. Simpson misses with a hook to the ribs.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smit comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Simpson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Smit lands an elbow just above Simpson 's eye. Smit pushes Simpson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Smit gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Smit blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Smit unloads a knee to the mid-section. Simpson is breathing heavily. Smit lands an elbow that stopped Simpson in his tracks for a moment. Smit landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Simpson wants to take the fight to the mat but Smit manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Smit lands an elbow just above Simpson 's eye. Smit has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Simpson regains guard immediately. Smit is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smit looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smit gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Smit shoots in and gets a takedown into Simpson's guard. Simpson can't keep his opponent in guard - Smit advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Smit performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smit trying to mount his opponent but Simpson defends it. Smit looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Smit wants to pass the guard but Simpson is defending well. Smit is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smit sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Simpson defending well though. Smit stands up out of the half guard. Smit misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smit moves into range and clinches up with Simpson. Smit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Simpson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Smit thows a body shot but no joy. Simpson misses with a series of wild punches.

Mats Sundin Smit dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Smit drives through with a takedown into guard. Smit pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Simpson is keeping the position for now. Simpson being controlled here, momentarily. Simpson keeping moving, preventing Smit from controlling successfully. Smit stands up and waves to Simpson to follow him. Smit closes the distance and clinches.

Smit comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Smit lands an elbow inside. Simpson is trying to force a seperation but Smit has the dominant position. Smit with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Smit's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Smit shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Simpson's guard. Simpson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Smit has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Simpson controls Smit momentarily but Smit frees himself. Simpson is looking to stand up but Smit isn't so interested in that idea. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Smit looking to pass the guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Bart Simpson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Smit shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Simpson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smit trying to control the position from guard on top but Simpson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simpson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smit slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smit is looking to take a break and control but Simpson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smit wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Simpson, who protects the arm well. Smit tries for a kimura but Simpson is defending well. Smit taking a breather here. Simpson is trying to control Smit's posture but Smit avoids it. Mats Sundin Smit has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smit working the ground and pound but Simpson is defending the strikes. Smit tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Smit stands up and we're back to a striking position. Simpson darts in looking for a takedown but Smit gets double underhooks and turns Simpson into the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smit has picked Simpson up - he's going for a ride! Smit dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Smit throwing shots but Simpson is blocking nicely. Mats Sundin Smit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Smit changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simpson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. And that's the end of the fight! Mats Sundin Smit comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smit has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
