The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter slaps away a takedown attempt from Gardiner, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gardiner lands with a right hand.
It looks like Gaylord Potter has been cut.
Gardiner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Potter quickly recovers to half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gardiner trying to control from Potter's half guard. Potter has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Potter keeping moving, preventing Gardiner from controlling successfully.
Gardiner lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gardiner stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Potter has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Gardiner manages to get his head free but now Potter has transitioned to an armbar! Gardiner grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Potter! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
