Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Mr Ripley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripley comes to the ring accompanied by The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano . David is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Craig David - Rise and Fall. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Ripley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Craig David!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ripley takes the fight into the clinch.
Ripley is trying to break free.
David lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ripley backwards.
Ripley blocks an uppercut.

David pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ripley chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before David can pounce on him.
Ripley lands a head shot.


It looks like Craig David has been cut.
Ripley misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A punch combination from David misses.
David takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ripley throws a series of punches but David avoids them all with ease.
David misses with a few strikes there.
David tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ripley swats him away and circles back towards the center.
David moves out of range of the body kick from Ripley.
Ripley tries to clinch but David is having none of it.

Ripley moves into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
David prevents Ripley from breaking the clinch.
David has had enough of the clinch but Ripley keeps him there for the moment.
Ripley trying to land knees to the body.
David wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
David keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ripley's efforts to push away.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.

Ripley breaks from the clinch.

Ripley closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends David crashing to the mat! David uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
David on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.


That has opened up Craig David's cut even more.
Ripley tries to clinch but David moves out of range.
Ripley misses with a low kick.
Ripley throws a combination that misses
and David counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Mr Ripley has been cut.
Ripley bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps David's head backwards.


The cut above Craig David's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Ripley throws a series of punches but David avoids them all with ease.
Ripley throws a head kick but David moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
David lands with an overhand left.
Mr Ripley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ripley swinging wildly here.
A leg kick checked by David.
Sloppy strikes from Ripley. Those never looked like landing.
Ripley tries to clinch there but David circles away.
Ripley throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
David misses with a double jab.
Ripley moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Ripley closes the distance and clinches.
Ripley with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Our sources have told us that Ripley has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Ripley working hard to break the clinch.
Ripley is trying to push David away but David has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Ripley is trying to break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ripley manages to break the clinch.
Ripley misses the body punch

and David holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Ripley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ripley pushes David up against the ropes in a clinch.
Ripley trying to control the position but instead, David has worked for underhooks and has pushed Ripley into the ropes.
David is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Ripley manages to break the clinch.
David throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
David scores with a big combo that sends Ripley crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Ripley flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! David jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Craig David!
An out of breath and clearly excited Craig David thanked Das Labor for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
