Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Freedmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Shoznes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freedmen comes to the cage accompanied by Simple Man. Shoznes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by O-Zone - Dragostea Din Tei. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Shoznes! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Freedmen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Shoznes misses with an uppercut. Freedmen saw that one coming. Shoznes has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Freedmen is landing a low percentage of strikes. Freedmen misses with an uppercut. Freedmen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shoznes. Freedmen swats away the attempt to clinch by Shoznes. Freedmen shoots in for a double leg but Shoznes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Shoznes moves out of range as Freedmen strikes. Nice shot lands for Freedmen. Shoznes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Freedmen misses with the head strike.
A short right from Freedmen on the inside. Shoznes taking a breather. Freedmen digs a right hand underneath Shoznes's ribcage. Shoznes let out a lung full of air as it connected. Freedmen tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Shoznes lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Freedmen backwards. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Freedmen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Freedmen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Freedmen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Freedmen looking for a guillotine here but Shoznes defends easily.
Freedmen has his foot on Shoznes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shoznes works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freedmen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shoznes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Freedmen throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Shoznes controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Freedmen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Freedmen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Freedmen has an active guard here but Shoznes has managed to pass into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Freedmen tries to reverse the position but Shoznes maintains control. Freedmen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Freedmen wants to get back to full guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joseph Shoznes wasn't active enough on the ground. Freedmen connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Shoznes dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shoznes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Freedmen shoots in looking for a takedown but Shoznes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Freedmen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Shoznes connects with a body shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Freedmen lands with a shot to the body. Freedmen scores with a push kick. Freedmen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shoznes.
Freedmen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shoznes moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shoznes cracks Freedmen with a right hand to the side of the head. Freedmen scores with a jab. Shoznes acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Freedmen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shoznes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Freedmen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shoznes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Freedmen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Freedmen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Roger Freedmen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Freedmen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shoznes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Wait, no, Shoznes rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Freedmen's guard! Nice work there by Shoznes!

But no, Shoznes has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Freedmen but great work by Shoznes. Shoznes advances to mount. Shoznes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Freedmen is looking to escape. Freedmen is looking to improve his position but Shoznes isn't that keen on the idea. Joseph Shoznes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roger Freedmen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shoznes controlling the pace for now. Freedmen tries to hold on but Shoznes pushes him away. Freedmen bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shoznes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Freedmen controls the pace. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Freedmen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shoznes dives on top into guard.

Shoznes trying to control the position from guard on top but Freedmen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Freedmen has a closed guard, preventing Shoznes from standing up. Freedmen is trying to keep Shoznes in close.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Freedmen throws a sloppy head kick and Shoznes moves out of range easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shoznes misses the shot to the body. Shoznes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Freedmen takes a swing at Shoznes's ribcage but misses. A jab from Freedmen finds it's way through Shoznes's defenses. Freedmen looks to throw the jab but Shoznes is out of range. Shoznes lands the left hand. Shoznes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Freedmen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Freedmen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shoznes avoids it really well and circles away. Freedmen stuns Shoznes with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Freedmen scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Shoznes misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Joseph Shoznes. I think Freedmen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
