Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hercules Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rigoberto Lamas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hercules Sampson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rigoberto Lamas! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamas tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sampson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Lamas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sampson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lamas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sampson tries to avoid it but Lamas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sampson to the ground. Sampson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lamas on the wrong end of a nice jab.
It looks like Rigoberto Lamas has been cut. Sampson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Donk. Sampson catches Lamas right on the button with a cross. Lamas shoots in and drives through. Sampson sprawls well. Hercules Sampson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rigoberto Lamas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lamas's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sampson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lamas scrambles back to his feet. Sampson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Hercules Sampson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lamas walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A jab lands there for Sampson. Sampson lands an overhand right. Lamas shoots in but no luck this time. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lamas wants to clinch. Lamas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lamas there as he acknowledges the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sampson misses with a looping left. Lamas tries for a takedown but Sampson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sampson works over Lamas's head and body with a nice combination. Lamas dives in for a single leg takedown but Sampson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lamas can't get the takedown.
A short right from Sampson. Lamas is trying desperately to land a takedown but Sampson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lamas. Sampson stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lamass head. Sampson slowing the pace effectively. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sampson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Lamas takes a shot to the head. A short right from Sampson on the inside. Sampson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lamas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lamas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. A punch lands to the side of Lamas 's head but he takes it in his stride. Sampson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lamas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Lamas prevents Sampson from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lamas slips nicely into half guard. Lamas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sampson defends it well. Sampson trying to control from the bottom.
Lamas tries to pass to full mount but Sampson defends it. Lamas is trying to work for a kimura but Sampson is defending well.
Sampson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sampson tries to get out of the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lamas is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sampson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rigoberto Lamas! After the fight, Rigoberto Lamas was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
