And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jermaine Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A left lands for Johnson.
Johnson lands a lovely overhand right.


It looks like Jason Taylor has been cut.

Taylor dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Taylor's head and hops out.

so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Taylor has a closed guard, preventing Johnson from standing up.

Taylor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Taylor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Johnson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

My spies in BLACKSMITH GYM - THE 25 Coach Las Vegas Mega-Gym inform me that Johnson has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson stands up over Taylor, holding on to his feet. Johnson throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Taylor is out cold! Johnson lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jermaine Johnson!
A relieved looking Jermaine Johnson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
