Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jody Sloan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Right Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Right Cross is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jody Sloan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Right Cross! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sloan closes the distance and pushes Cross back into the cage. Cross tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Sloan lands a takedown into guard.
Sloan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Sloan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sloan looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jody Sloan wasn't doing enough on the ground. Cross moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Jody Sloan has been cut. Cross throws a right hand that Sloan ducks under and follows up with a left that Sloan also avoids with ease. Sloan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cross misses with a body shot.
Jody Sloan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cross keeps the fight on the outside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Cross gets in close and instigates a clinch. Cross throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Cross manages to pull guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sloan controls from within his opponent's guard. Cross really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sloan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cross is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sloan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sloan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sloan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sloan stands up and waves to Cross to follow him. Cross keeps the fight on the outside. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Cross!
Sloan clinches up against the cage. Cross tries to land a knee to the head but Sloan blocks with his arms.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sloan blocks an elbow strike from Cross.
Sloan jumps guard and drags Cross to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sloan is looking for a triangle but Cross pushes his legs off easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cross stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sloan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sloan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jody Sloan dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jody Sloan's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cross keeps the fight on the outside. Sloan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Cross is pushing Sloan's head away, looking to escape. Sloan manages to hold on to the position though. Sloan landing strikes. Sloan throws a strike aimed at the side of Cross's head but Cross avoids it well. Sloan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sloan tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Cross takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Sloan misses with the ground and pound. Sloan working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Sloan is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cross's shoulder. That is not cool.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sloan asserts his dominance and retains side control. Sloan landing strikes. Sloan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Cross defending against the ground and pound. Sloan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloan taking a breather here. Sloan working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Sloan just content to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jody Sloan. Cross shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cross was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sloan looking for a sweep but Cross has passed into full mount! Oh no! Sloan manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sloan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cross is on him like a limpet, forcing Sloan back against the cage. Cross pulls guard. Jody Sloan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sloan scoring with punches to the head and body. Cross is working an open guard so Sloan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sloan closes the distance and clinches. Sloan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sloan doesn't manage to clinch there - Cross circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jody Sloan dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Jody Sloan's cut. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Sloan fails with a takedown attempt. Sloan moves into the clinch. Sloan can't get the takedown.
Cross can't break the clinch.
Cross is trying to break the clinch but Sloan is controlling him. Cross wants to break free but Sloan has control.
Cross is trying to break free. Sloan jumps guard.
Sloan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cross stacks Sloan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cross!
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloan wants to get back to his feet but Cross is dominant here and he's now got Sloan's back! Cross throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Sloan!
Sloan breaks Cross's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Cross pulls Sloan in close to his closed guard and prevents Sloan from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sloan distracts Cross with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sloan throws a big elbow that misses. Sloan looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Sloan working some strikes from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloan sitting in guard, not really doing much. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Sloan chips away with some ground and pound. Sloan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sloan wants to control from the top but Cross keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cross wants to stand and escape but Sloan is having none of it.

Sloan darts in and clinches Cross up against the cage. Sloan decides to pull guard. Sloan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sloan is looking to cinch up a triangle. Cross throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sloan's body to avoid the submission. Sloan has instead reached around Cross's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sloan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jody Sloan!
