Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Stanley Collier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shujinko Kuei! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuei cracks Collier with a good jab. Kuei lunges at Collier with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Collier's hand. Kuei loads up on a big right hand but Collier slips the punch. Collier misses with a two punch combination.
Kuei waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Collier. Collier could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Kuei looks to score with a jab to the body but Collier is just out of range. Kuei lands with a good body shot. Kuei darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Kuei throws a lazy uppercut
and Collier counters with a one-two to the body. Kuei misses with an uppercut. Collier saw that one coming. A punch lands to the side of Collier 's head but he takes it in his stride. Kuei misses with a lunging right hand
and Collier counters with a left to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Kuei scores with a sloppy right hand. Collier should have avoided that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuei throws an overhand right that lands on Collier's shoulder, as Collier tries to avoid the shot. Kuei throws a lazy uppercut
so Collier counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Collier preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kuei wants to improve his position but instead Collier has moved into half guard.
Kuei trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Collier manages to pass to mount!
Kuei can't escape the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kuei can do anything to dispel that myth. Kuei is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kuei really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kuei tries to control the position but Collier now has his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Collier looking to break Kuei's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kuei remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Collier will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kuei is in bad spot here.
Collier is persistently looking for the submission but Kuei is defending it well.
Collier lands an elbow to the side of the head. Kuei controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Collier has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Kuei is in real trouble here. Collier gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Kuei is tapping out! Collier wins by rear naked choke!
