Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor Jackson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris White! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! White lands with a cross. Chris White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. White will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A punch combination from White misses. White looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jackson slips a jab and a cross from White.
White attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. White misses with a double jab.
White lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
White misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jackson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from White.
Jackson looks for a takedown but White sprawls well. White tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by White. Danga de danga de dang - White scores with a four punch combination! Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around White's waist but White gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side. No joy there for White, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts White, as that shot connected.
Jackson tries to move into range but White moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. White moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off. Jackson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Connor Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but White shows good takedown defense. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson. White shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. White scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. White tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it. Jackson slips a jab and a cross from White.
Nice takedown defense from White. No joy for Jackson on that attempt. Jackson is breathing heavily. White rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jackson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. No joy there for White, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - White looks like he's thinking about clinching though. White misses with a two punch combination.
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by White. Nice sprawl there from White as Jackson shoots in. White throws a wild combination but nothing lands. White throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jackson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jackson backs up against the cage.

Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? White is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, White circles away and we're back to standing. White with a lazy takedown attempt and Jackson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jackson. White wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jackson passes White's left leg - he's now in half guard. Jackson seems to be working for a kimura but White defends the submission attempt. White won't allow Jackson to pass to mount. Jackson is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. White is looking to control Jackson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can White avoid being mounted? Jackson passes to side control. White wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Jackson landing a few strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Jackson is working to tighten is grip on White's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. White has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jackson is really squeezing tight and eventually White passes out! Jackson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
