Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Hellwig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrick Bowens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kendrick Bowens told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Hellwig! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kendrick Bowens! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hellwig will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Bowens clinches up against the cage. Hellwig prevents the takedown attempt.
Bowens escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hellwig keeps the fight on the outside. Hellwig keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bowens with a lazy takedown attempt and Hellwig counters with an inside leg kick. Jim Hellwig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kendrick Bowens. Hellwig slaps away a takedown attempt from Bowens, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hellwig scores with a three punch combo!
Bowens gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bowens has Hellwig pressed against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Hellwig breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hellwig avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hellwig defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bowens. Bowens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hellwig paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hellwig shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Hellwig stands and steps away. Bowens gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Bowens is looking to clinch but Hellwig is avoiding it.
A combination from Bowens does no damage. Bowens moves in looking to clinch but Hellwig pushes him off. Bowens on the wrong end of a nice jab. Bowens looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hellwig is fending him off so far but Bowens persists. Nope, Hellwig circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowens throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hellwig counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Bowens doesn't manage to clinch there - Hellwig circles away.
Hellwig thows a body shot but no joy. Hellwig showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bowens.
Hellwig cracks Bowens with a right hand to the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hellwig gets a double leg takedown into Bowens's guard. Bowens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hellwig is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bowens has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hellwig is looking to defend but Bowens has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hellwig! Bowens pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hellwig taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kendrick Bowens!
