Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wayne Conway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, The Weirdness!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weirdness misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Weirdness tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Conway counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Conway.

Conway drags the fight down to the ground.
Conway seems keen to control Weirdness's posture.

Weirdness drops back, looking for a kneebar! Conway looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Conway looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Conway!

Conway is trying to get an arm triangle but Weirdness is defending well.

Conway wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Weirdness, who protects the arm well.

Conway shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Weirdness is trying to defend but Conway finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Conway shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Weirdness as he avoids it easily.
Conway slaps away a takedown attempt from Weirdness, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Weirdness shoots in and drives through. Conway sprawls well.
Conway keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wayne Conway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Weirdness.
Weirdness fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Conway avoids it really well and circles away.
Conway dives in and grabs Weirdness's left leg, looking for a takedown. Weirdness pushes down on Conway's head and hops out.

Weirdness takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Conway is pushing Weirdness up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Conway has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Weirdness is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Conway tightens his grip and picks Weirdness up, before dumping him to the ground. Weirdness manages to land in guard.

Conway frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Conway thowing shots but they're missing.

Conway get's back to his feet.
Weirdness closes this distance looking for a takedown but Conway circles away.

and Conway cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Conway counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Conway.
Weirdness avoiding damage as Conway throws knees to the body.
Weirdness changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Conway fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Horrible takedown by Conway or perhaps it was just good defense by Weirdness which made him look bad.
Weirdness fails with a takedown attempt.
Weirdness throws the kick towards the body but Conway avoids it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Conway, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
