PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Cousteau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodniel Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romero has chosen Kanye West - Amazing as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rodniel Romero will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacques Cousteau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodniel Romero!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero scores with a spinning back kick!
Romero fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cousteau tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Romero defends well and Cousteau ends up having to push Romero into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Cousteau has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

That was a close round but I would say that Jacques Cousteau will probably get the nod.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jacques Cousteau will probably get the nod.

Romero throws a right and a left that both miss.

Romero felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jacques Cousteau.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cousteau, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
