Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Axis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mascio Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Joe Axis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Joe Axis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Axis closes the distance and clinches.
Dos Santos is looking to control Axis's arms but Axis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Dos Santos has his back to the cage.
Axis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice takedown defense from Axis. No joy for Dos Santos on that attempt.

and Dos Santos moves into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mascio Dos Santos just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

You get the feeling that Axis really doesn't like being in this position too much.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Dos Santos has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joe Axis.
Well Dos Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
