Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anwar Sadat!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sadat moves out of range of the body kick from James.
Sadat has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as James is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Kevin James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James looks to throw the jab but Sadat is out of range.
James pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
James stuffs the takedown attempt from Sadat. Sadat gets slowly back to his feet.
James misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sadat.

James connects with the punch.
Sadat ducks down and throws a hook to the body but James moves away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from James enables Sadat to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. James manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Sadat advances position into side control!

Sadat remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sadat frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Sadat seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but James does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

James is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sadat's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sadat's back!

You can see the frustration on Sadat's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sadat is trying to remain composed but James is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.

James tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sadat knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James throws a strike but Sadat avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sadat moves out of range of the strikes.
James throws an overhand right that lands on Sadat's shoulder, as Sadat tries to avoid the shot.
James just misses with a punch to the body.
James shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sadat throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sadat just misses with a punch to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from James misses the target.
James misses with a hook.
James misses with a looping right.
James scores with the left hand. Sadat knows he should have avoided that one.

No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Sadat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and James makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
James throws a hook to the side of Sadat's head but Sadat sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

James fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Sadat throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A left lands for James.
A looping hook to the body misses from James. Sadat does a little dance to reset his feet.
James digs a good hook to Sadat's body.
Sadat throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A punch combination from James misses.
Sadat uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from James.
Sadat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and James counters with a right hand to the body.
Kevin James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anwar Sadat.

Kevin James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

James throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sadat dives in for a single leg takedown but James sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

James swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
James throws a series of punches but Sadat moves out of range.

A cross from James lands.
No luck for Sadat with that takedown attempt.
James thows a body shot but no joy.
Sadat fails to land the takedown.
Sadat shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Sadat keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James misses with a looping right.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin James dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Sadat shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sadat on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
James works Sadat's body with a nice hook.
James misses with a double jab.
Sadat throws an uppercut from half a mile away. James sees it coming and avoids it easily.
James looks to land a left hand but Sadat moved out of range nicely.

Sadat throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kevin James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
James throws a series of punches but Sadat avoids them all with ease.

James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sadat.
James throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sadat stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
James misses with an uppercut.

Sadat throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
James throws a hook but Sadat avoids it easily.

Sadat ducks under a wild hook from James.
James misses with a straight left.

Sadat gets a double leg takedown into James's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sadat tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.
Sadat is looking to pass into half guard but James pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now James is in guard.
James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sadat swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

James throws a big right hand that misses.
Sadat keeping full guard, as James tries to pass.
James is working hard here to advance position.
James looking to sit in guard and control but Sadat gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
James lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sadat!
Kevin James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

James content just to control the position here.
Sadat wants to hold on but James pushes him away.
Anwar Sadat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sadat is in all sorts of trouble here.

Well James has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
