Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seppo Taalasmaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taalasmaa kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dice - Abusing Drugs. Alex Karelin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Seppo Taalasmaa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Karelin! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karelin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Taalasmaa's guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Taalasmaa is on top in guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Karelin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Karelin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Taalasmaa can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Karelin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Karelin is trying to drag Taalasmaa to the mat but Taalasmaa just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Seppo Taalasmaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Karelin. Karelin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Taalasmaa pulls him back up using the underhooks. Taalasmaa breaks from the clinch.
Karelin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Taalasmaa. Taalasmaa throws a nice looking combination but Karelin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
