The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle looks to score with a jab to the body but Karchinski is just out of range.
Karchinski swats away the attempt to clinch by Battle.

Battle gets caught flat footed, as Karchinski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Karchinski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Karchinski trying to stand up but can't free himself from Battle's guard.

Battle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Karchinski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Battle is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Karchinski is sitting in close to Battle's body. Battle has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Karchinski is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Karchinski is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Battle.
