Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Saunders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Brushnikov! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brushnikov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brushnikov lands in his opponent's guard. Saunders looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Saunders is working hard here to advance position. Saunders bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brushnikov's guard. Saunders looking to pass the guard. Saunders is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Saunders avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Brushnikov has his foot on Saunders's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Saunders works his way back into a safe position though. Brushnikov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Saunders doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Brushnikov has control of Saunders's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Saunders regains control of the situation pretty easily.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Brushnikov holds on and takes a little breather. Saunders forces his way into half guard. Brushnikov gets full guard. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Saunders gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brushnikov counters with a single leg into guard. Saunders didn't expect that. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Saunders is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Brushnikov tries to close the distance and clinch but Saunders swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brushnikov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Saunders's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brushnikov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brushnikov is trying to stick to Saunders's back but Saunders is turning into Brushnikov. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Brushnikov's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Saunders. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brushnikov is looking for a triangle but Saunders pushes his legs off easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Boris Brushnikov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brushnikov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
