Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adam Schmierer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Major Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmierer's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Down in Dunedin by Pissd Chris/Tokie Konez/Kamasuda/Devil Keyz. Major has chosen Iron Man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Adam Schmierer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Schmierer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Major Major!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Major takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Major Major has been cut.
Schmierer bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Schmierer tries to land a front kick but Major steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Major gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Major has a couple of punches blocked by Schmierer.
Schmierer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Schmierer breaks from the clinch.
Major dives in for a single leg takedown but Schmierer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Major prevents Schmierer from breaking the clinch.
Major content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Schmierer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Major moves out of range as Schmierer throws a body kick.
Schmierer misses with an attempted mid kick.
Major throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Major shoots in but no luck this time.
Schmierer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schmierer scores with a kick to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Schmierer shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

The fighters circle momentarily. Schmierer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Major looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Schmierer!

Major is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schmierer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Major working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Schmierer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Schmierer tries to get out of the position.
The referee asks Major politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Major prefers to stall for the moment though.
Major throws a strike aimed at the side of Schmierer's head but Schmierer avoids it well.

Major tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Major controlling the position from side mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schmierer wants to get back to his feet.
My spies in Body Pain_12elite_599$+VM inform me that Major has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Major is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schmierer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Major creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Major lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Schmierer down.
Major is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Major lands a nice forearm strike.

Major is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schmierer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Major trying to control the position but Schmierer is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Major working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Major decides to stand up, so the ref orders Schmierer to his feet.

Major shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schmierer's guard.
Major is working Schmierer over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Major passes Schmierer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Major takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Major throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Major is trying to control. Schmierer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Major lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Major Major has got the better of the ground game so far.
Schmierer is refusing to be controlled, as Major sits in half guard.
Major scoring with strikes to the body and head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Major looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Major is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Schmierer is not content to let Major control the position.
Major might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Schmierer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Schmierer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Major on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Major lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Major trying to control the action but Schmierer is working from the bottom.
Major thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Schmierer looks like he's trying to stand up.
Major wants to pass to mount but Schmierer is defending the position.

Major works his way into full mount!
Major lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Major has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Schmierer is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
A nice elbow there by Major.
Major cracks Schmierer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Major breaks from Schmierer's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Major connects with a bit shot that sees Schmierer covering up! More strikes from Major and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Major is our winner by TKO!

During a confident post fight interview, Major Major thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
