PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mercurius Faunus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kinder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kinder is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Let's Get Ready To Rhumble. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faunus is looking to score with low kicks.
Faunus throws a hook but Kinder blocks it.
Faunus looks to land a right hand but Kinder moved out of range.
Kinder will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kinder steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Faunus.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kinder has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Faunus is proving hard to escape from.

Kinder is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Faunus is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Faunus has escaped and now he's on top!
Faunus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Faunus wants to get up but he can't break Kinder's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Mercurius Faunus is winning the standup battle so far.
Kinder with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Faunus to score with a decent uppercut.
Faunus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kinder manages to avoid it.
Kinder darts in looking for a takedown but Faunus gets double underhooks and turns Kinder into the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Faunus - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
