Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stirling Sanguin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karch Kurrai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karch Kurrai will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stirling Sanguin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Karch Kurrai! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurrai shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sanguin's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Sanguin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Kurrai has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanguin is proving hard to escape from.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Karch Kurrai was stalling too much, according to the referee. Sanguin has Kurrai up against the cage in a clinch.
Kurrai lands with a short head shot on the inside. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kurrai creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sanguin scores with a nice hook to the head. Sanguin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kurrai smiles and moves away.
Kurrai looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. My spies in Cozad The Island inform me that Kurrai has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanguin works his way to full guard. Good work. Sanguin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kurrai! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanguin with a couple of short strikes. Sanguin looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Kurrai is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanguin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! Sanguin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sanguin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kurrai is rocked! Kurrai pushes Sanguin off looking to stand but Sanguin dives back in and keeps control.
Kurrai is still in real trouble! Can Sanguin finish him? Sanguin lands with a punch from half guard. Sanguin gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Kurrai looks winded! Sanguin shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Kurrai is on queer street and Sanguin is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Stirling Sanguin!
