Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcus Freedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freedman throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Silva makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Freedman really felt that one!
Freedman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Silva counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Freedman is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Freedman throws a combination that misses
and Silva counters with a three punch combo that has Freedman backing up. Freedman nods at Silva to acknowledge the strikes.
Freedman scores with a jab. Silva acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Freedman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Freedman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Freedman is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.

Freedman is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Silva still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Silva has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

We've been hearing good reports from Freedman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Silva cracks Freedman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


Freedman is rocked!
Horrible takedown by Freedman or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Oh Freedman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Crack! A monster head kick from Silva and Freedman falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Silva!

After winning the bout, Anderson Silva thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
