Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Wilkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wilks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Wilkes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Wilks! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilkes misses with a combination
enabling Wilks to counter with a crisp jab. Wilkes misses with an attempted mid kick.
Wilks scores with a jab to the body. Wilkes looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Wilks drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Wilks trying to control but Wilkes is working from the bottom. Wilks slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Wilks pulls Wilkes in to control the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wilks wants to stand and escape but Wilkes is having none of it. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Wilks is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jonathan Wilkes has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Wilkes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wilks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilkes somewhat. Wilks throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wilkes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wilks is in Wilkes's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilks trying to control the position from guard on top but Wilkes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. William Wilks hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Wilkes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Wilkes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wilks defends well and Wilkes ends up having to push Wilks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilkes is trying to drag Wilks to the mat but Wilks just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonathan Wilkes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilks turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Wilkes struggling a bit here. Wilks wants to control but Wilkes is keeping him busy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A momentary lapse in concentration from Wilkes enables Wilks to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wilkes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Wilks looking to sit in guard and control but Wilkes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jonathan Wilkes just wasn't active enough. Wilks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wilkes tries to clinch there but Wilks circles away.

William Wilks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilkes bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Wilkes wants to clinch. Wilkes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wilks is trying to defend but Wilkes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Wilks wants to control but Wilkes passes into side.

William Wilks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Wilkes showed some decent athleticism there. Wilkes trying to control from half guard but Wilks is working away. Wilks trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Wilkes manages to pass to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilks manages to regain half guard. Good work. Wilks is looking for a sweep. Wilkes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Wilkes is trying to control the action in half guard but Wilks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jonathan Wilkes. Wilkes moves out of range as Wilks throws a body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilks misses with a double jab.
Wilks tries to clinch but Wilkes moves out of range. Wilkes moves in looking to clinch but Wilks pushes him off. The fight moves into the clinch position. Wilks gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilkes holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Wilks throws a strike but Wilkes avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Wilks wants to pass the guard but Wilkes is keeping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilks being controlled here momentarily. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jonathan Wilkes has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Wilkes closes the distance and clinches. Wilks gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Wilkes.
Wilks is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wilkes can't fight it off and eventually Wilks manages to take the fight to the floor. Wilkes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to William Wilks. Well Wilks has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
