Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tam Conway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Velasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tam Conway! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Johan Velasco! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasco closes the distance and clinches. Velasco lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Tam Conway has been cut. Velasco stalling against the cage.
Conway struggles to land a body shot inside as Velasco controls his hands.
Nice elbow from Velasco. Velasco working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Nice elbow from Velasco. Velasco has Conway pushed against the cage. Velasco gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Conway doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Conway can't break the clinch.
Velasco lands an elbow just above Conway 's eye. Velasco taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Velasco lands a nice uppercut.

Velasco lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Conway backwards. Velasco blocks a body shot from Conway. Velasco crunches a lovely knee into Conway's ribcage. Velasco comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Velasco gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Tam Conway's cut is getting worse. Conway is trying to break the clinch but Velasco has him pressed against the cage. Velasco lands a left hand.
Velasco lands an elbow inside. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice elbow from Velasco. Velasco manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Velasco drops Conway onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Conway is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Conway is rocked! Velasco works on Conway's body with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Conway tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Conway takes an elbow to the temple. Oh Conway is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Velasco lands a nice elbow.
Tam Conway's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Velasco makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Velasco lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Velasco has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile. Conway takes an elbow to the forehead. Velasco lands a damaging elbow. Nice elbow from Velasco. Velasco stalls. Conway seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasco lands an elbow inside.
Jeez, Tam Conway's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Velasco has Conway pressed against the cage.
Velasco lands with a short shot to the head. The referee calls for Velasco to work.
Conway takes an elbow to the temple.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tam Conway's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Johan Velasco! Johan Velasco was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
