Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Milo Azyr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jarkko Rautavaara! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Azyr throws a combination. Rautavaara tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Rautavaara connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Azyr momentarily.
Rautavaara throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Azyr counters with a head kick. Rautavaara throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Azyr throws a right and a left that Rautavaara avoids nicely. No luck for Azyr with that takedown attempt. Azyr throws a head kick that misses. Rautavaara looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Azyr! Rautavaara has control of Azyr's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Azyr regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Rautavaara. Rautavaara controlling from mount. Azyr can't escape the position.
Azyr is breathing heavily. Rautavaara with the ground and pound from mount. Rautavaara lands a nice shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rautavaara tries to control but Azyr wriggling away. Rautavaara controlling from the full mount. Rautavaara landing strikes from the mount and Azyr is in trouble! Rautavaara putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Rautavaara sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Rautavaara's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Rautavaara lands a big shot there that rocks Azyr but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Rautavaara wants to control the pace but Azyr is squirming around nicely. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rautavaara with good strikes from the mount here! Rautavaara is in the full mount, landing strikes. Rautavaara scoring with strikes but Azyr is staying in there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rautavaara looking to control but Azyr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rautavaara sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Rautavaara trying to control but Azyr is having none of it. Azyr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Jarkko Rautavaara dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rautavaara shoots in but Azyr avoids the takedown attempt easily. Azyr tries to clinch but Rautavaara is having none of it. Rautavaara looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Azyr is fending him off so far but Rautavaara persists. Nope, Azyr circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rautavaara gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Rautavaara prevents Azyr from breaking the clinch. Rautavaara scores with a hook to the body. Rautavaara lands a takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rautavaara throws a strike but Azyr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Rautavaara seems keen to control Azyr's posture. Azyr preventing the sweep. Rautavaara trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rautavaara controls Azyr momentarily but Azyr frees himself. Rautavaara wants to sweep but no luck. Azyr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rautavaara is trying to control the position but Azyr postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Azyr tries to clinch but Rautavaara moves away and Rautavaara counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Azyr's guard now. Rautavaara wants to control from the top but Azyr keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azyr looking for a sweep. Not yet Azyr, not yet. Rautavaara is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Rautavaara passes Azyr's left leg - he's now in half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Azyr tries to get to full guard but Rautavaara has control of the leg. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Azyr is working hard here to advance position. Rautavaara slows the pace down in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rautavaara tries to pass the half guard into mount. Azyr knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Rautavaara missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarkko Rautavaara showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Rautavaara is looking to clinch but Azyr is avoiding it.
Rautavaara fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Azyr. Rautavaara tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Azyr swivels and escapes. Azyr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rautavaara counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Azyr's guard now. Rautavaara looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rautavaara drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rautavaara jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rautavaara sitting in guard, not really doing much. Azyr working a defensive guard but Rautavaara manages to pass into side control anyway.
You can see the frustration on Azyr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A lull in the action here as Rautavaara stalls from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rautavaara working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Azyr is looking to reverse the position. Rautavaara controlling from side mount. Rautavaara lands a few punches from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azyr is trying to escape the position but Rautavaara is controlling the position. Azyr is not content to let Rautavaara control the position. The referee asks Rautavaara politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rautavaara prefers to stall for the moment though. Rautavaara gets to mount! Azyr was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Rautavaara controlling the position easily from mount. Rautavaara pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rautavaara lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Rautavaara working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Rautavaara wants to finish this one by submission but Azyr is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rautavaara. Milo Azyr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Azyr flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Jarkko Rautavaara comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rautavaara has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
